Ohio State beats Penn State, 49-0, to advance to Big Ten Championship game

Cleveland — Ohio State won the Big Ten championship for the fifth time in six seasons and defeated Penn State 49-1 on Saturday.

Ohio State finished its six-game winning streak with a 44-31 win at Penn State on Saturday night, which ended a two-game losing streak for the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes are now 5-0 in their last seven home games and are undefeated in the Big 12 and Big Ten Conference.

Penn State’s defense held the Buckeye offense to a season-low 36.5 points per game and was held to 36.2 percent shooting in the loss.

The Wolverines (2-1, 0-1 Big Ten) are looking for their first conference victory since winning the league in 2015-16.

Penn State (0-1) dropped the first meeting of the season with a 45-35 win at Illinois on Saturday and the Wolverines are now 0-4 in Big Ten play.
